We're Nominated!

Hello Lickety Loverrrs,

Lickety Split # 8: The Work Issue is nominated for Best English zine at this year's Expozine Awards!

As contributors and supporters of Lickety Split it would be wonderful if you could join us to celebrate at the awards ceremony being held this Sunday April 3, 2011, 8 p.m. Admission is free at Divan Orange in Montreal, 4234 St-Laurent.

As you may remember, Lickety Split # 7 took home the prize for Best English zine at the Expozine Awards in 2008. And, while it was of course awesome to be chosen out of all the great zines that were nominated, it was also just wonderful to have an opportunity to get everyone together and acknowledge how much each person's contribution counted in making the zine as smutty and wicked as it can be.

More info about the nominees, etc. can be found here and the FB event is here. Please pass this information along to your friends, family, lovers and partners

Hope to see you there!

Elizabeth Stephens and Annie Sprinkle get dirty

Interdisciplinary artist and activist Elizabeth Stephens, and her partner, the one and only Annie Sprinkle, will be in Montreal this weekend as part of the Edgy Women Festival. Stephens and Sprinkle have spent the last seven years working on a multifaceted project entitled The Love Art Laboratory, and they will be putting on a performative talk about their experiences in the Lab. I was lucky enough to speak to these wonderfully warm and funny ladies over the phone a couple of weeks ago, the results of which are documented an article for 2b Mag that can be read here.
