I'm invitin' y'all out to support the 'Walking Distance Distro', a not-for-profit zine distro delivered in St. Henri by foot! For free! They're having a clothing exchange/sock hop and you can expect the usual goodies:
-Cheap Drinks!
-Local talent!
-Good food!
Since the distro is a free monthly venture for the lucky zine recievers, benefits like this one help to repay the zinesters who donate their zines.
So it's March 31st at the Bread Factory (617 St. Remi, room 304) which is a Friday. 9pm, $3.

Head & Hands Youth Zine project!
Head & Hands is hosting a youth zine project! If you're between the ages of 12-25, we want YOU to get involved! Get your voice heard, highlight stuff that's important to you.
The zine project participants are meeting every Thursday at 3:30pm at the Head & Hands main office (5833 Sherbrooke Street W.).
Also there is a call for submissions for the zine, due March 16th, on the theme "Your Life in NDG", though we are definitely flexible. It is also important to note that the project is bilingual and we are actively seeking third language submissions in order to better represent and give voice to diversity in our community.
Also, at tomorrow's meeting we are having local zinestress Paula Belina, co-editor of the long-running Street Eaters zine and local poet in to give an artist talk.
Feel free to come on down! Coffee, tea and snacks will be served.
5833 Sherbrooke Str. W. (105 bus from Vendome- near Melrose in NDG)
Call for more info at 514.481.0277.
Thanks,
Amber

Save our Sex Ed!
Une version française suit.
Please sent this out to your e-mail contacts!
Did you know that sex education has been eliminated from Quebec's public school curriculum? The material is now meant to be integrated into other courses like French class and Geography, but without formal guidelines. If you feel that Montreal youth deserve quality sexual education, then sign the petition at www.headandhands.ca/petition
STI/STD rates are rising among youth, and young people are engaging in risky sexual behavior. A recent study by SIECCAN confirms this: http://www.sieccan.org/pdf/mckay.pdf
Please show your support by signing the petition and forwarding this email to as many people as possible.
Thank you for your support
