an italian priest has organized an international on-line beauty contest for nuns on his blog, with ambitions to one day become a "real pageant" like miss america. for now, it's more like hotornot.com but with nuns between the ages of 18 and 40, either in habit and whimbles (nun hat-capes) or with their hair down.
the priest—antonio rungi—speaketh:
"Nuns are women above all else, and beauty is a gift from God. Do you really think nuns are all wizened, funereal old ladies? It's no longer that way these days. There are nuns from Africa and Latin America who are really very, very lovely. The Brazilian girls, above all. Many have assured me they will take part. You need a bit of courage to do something like this. Nuns deserve much more attention than they get."
